Jakarta - President Joko Widodo assesses that health checks have been carried out strictly on aircraft passengers from abroad who have just arrived at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.
In Soekarno-Hatta, which is the largest and busiest airport in Indonesia, checks have been carried out in layers to minimize the risk of spreading the Corona virus to the country.
"If we look at the time we entered the airport, on arrival from abroad the checking was very tight, [among others] filling out the Health Alert Card. Then, if it comes from a country that we have been wary of, enter [checked] at a different door and checked for the 4 countries, checked 3 times. Those from outside the country are double-checked by a thermal scanner and thermal gun. I think it is a necessity that I think is strict, "said the President.
The Head of State said that today, Friday, March 13, 2020, at Terminal 3 of the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport after reviewing the health check activities for newly arrived international passengers.
On the same occasion, the President also witnessed disinfection activities by spraying disinfectant liquids throughout the Soekarno-Hatta area.
"If at the airport and port then the station I think the government, BUMN, has also been doing [spraying disinfectant liquid] since a week ago. But I just want to make sure that this continues every day. I also want to make sure that this continues every day. I also want to ensure that the name thermal scanners and thermal gun really exist and are installed, "said Jokowi.
The disinfectant liquid spraying program is carried out every day in Soekarno-Hatta during the off-peak hours to sterilize the passenger terminal of the aircraft and other public areas from various viruses.
PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) President Director Muhammad Awaluddin said that checking on international passengers in Soekarno-Hatta was done through the Health Alert Card, then through a thermal scanner and thermal gun.
"Health Alert Cards, thermal scanners and thermal guns are standard checks at all PT Angkasa Pura II airports, including Soekarno-Hatta. In Soekarno-Hatta there is also a special lane for checking passengers from 4 countries namely Iran, South Korea, Italy and China. "
"All stakeholders in Soekarno-Hatta and other airports under PT Angkasa Pura II are committed to checking to minimize the risk of Corona deployment, but still by prioritizing aspects of service, security and safety," said Muhammad Awaluddin.
