Additional Policies Effective Today, Soekarno-Hatta Airport Prepares Special Lines for Passengers from 4 Countries

Jakarta - PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) together with the Immigration Office and the Port Health Office (KKP) ensured that procedures for limiting the arrival of travelers from Iran, Italy and South Korea were fully implemented at the airports managed by the company.

As is known, the government imposes restrictions on foreign nationals (foreigners) who arrived from the three countries starting Sunday, March 8, 2020. Previously, restrictions have also been made on passenger planes arriving from mainland China.

Restrictions on the arrival of travelers from 4 countries was done as an effort to suppress the potential distribution of Corona (COVID-19) to Indonesia.

PT Angkasa Pura II President Director Muhammad Awaluddin said that supervision was carried out strictly starting from checking travel documents to medical examinations.

"Procedures are carried out strictly but still pay attention to service and carried out regularly. For example, at Soekarno-Hatta Airport where a special lane is provided at the Soekarno-Hatta international arrival terminal. For traveler passport holders and passengers from Italy, China, South Korea and Iran will be directed into line 1. "

"In addition, each airline will provide information on the number of passengers from Iran, Italy and South Korea to KKP and PT Angkasa Pura II," Muhammad Awaluddin said.

The government does not prohibit flights or the arrival of travelers from Iran, Italy and South Korea. However, what the government does is do restrictions.

Foreigners arriving from the 3 countries are permitted to enter Indonesia if they have a health certificate, provided the certificate has been checked and declared valid by the CTF, even though it has a travel history of less than 14 days from these countries.

Health certificates must include at least two information, namely Fit to Travel and Free from Respiratory Diseases. For foreigners who do not carry health certificates it is certain to be refused entry into Indonesia.

Meanwhile foreigners arriving from the 3 countries are prohibited from entering Indonesia if they have traveled to a number of regions in Iran for the past 14 days, namely Tehran, Qom and Gilan; then Italy, namely Lombardi, Veneto, Emilia Romagna, Marche and Piedmont; and South Korea, Daegu and Gyeongsangbuk-do.

Foreigners arriving from Iran, Italy and South Korea must use a visa from the Indonesian Embassy and will be prohibited from entering if using a visa on arrival (VOA) or utilizing visa-free facilities (BVK).

Restrictions were also placed on foreigners arriving from mainland China. For foreigners who have a travel history of less than 14 days it will be prohibited from entering Indonesia, while if more than 14 days it is permitted to enter Indonesia after being examined by the CTF.

As for Indonesian citizens returning from 4 countries (Italy, Iran, South Korea and mainland China) to be able to enter Indonesia in addition to screening according to the procedure, additional health checks and licensing from the CTF are also carried out.

Muhammad Awaluddin said that PT Angkasa Pura II along with other stakeholders had also carried out a strict health inspection procedure.

"The examination of the body temperature of airplane passengers in the Soekarno-Hatta Terminal 3 international arrival area is carried out for 24 hours. There are two tools to check body temperature, namely thermal scanner and thermo gun, "said Muhammad Awaluddin.

The number of personnel in charge of checking the body temperature of passenger planes is 7 people in 1 group, consisting of 2 medical personnel, 2 aviation security personnel, and 3 service personnel.

Within 1 day there are 2 shifts consisting of 4 groups, so that there are a total of 28 people in 1 day to check the body temperature of passengers on international routes arriving in Soekarno-Hatta.
