Flight Information Update in Soekarno-Hatta Regarding Corona Impact: All International Routes Continue to Operate, Except from and to China

Jakarta - PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) ensures that the suspension of full international flights at Soekarno-Hatta Airport is currently only on routes to and from China.

The suspension of flights to and from China began on February 5, 2020 in accordance with government policy, up to an undetermined time to prevent the spread of Corona (COVID-19) to the country.

Other international flight routes in Soekarno-Hatta continue to be operated, both by national and foreign airlines.

The latest government policy related to the development of COVID-19 also does not prohibit flights to and from South Korea, Iran and Italy.

"Flights from Jakarta to Seoul and vice versa are still operating in Soekarno-Hatta," said PT Angkasa Pura II President Director Muhammad Awaluddin.

"In accordance with government policy, starting March 8, 2020 travelers who are prohibited from entering and transiting in Indonesia are those who in the last 14 days before arriving in Indonesia traveled in a number of South Korean regions namely Daegu and Gyeongsangbuk-do. For travelers who are not in the two regions, they must have a valid healthy certificate and issued by the health authority in South Korea to be able to enter or transit in Indonesia, "explained Muhammad Awaluddin.

Jakarta-Seoul flights and vice versa are currently operated by Garuda Indonesia and Asiana Airlines in Soekarno-Hatta.

The frequency of Garuda Indonesia flights on the Jakarta - Seoul route is daily, meanwhile Asiana Airlines becomes 3 times a week.

Previously, Korean Airlines also served the Jakarta - Seoul route, but this month the airline has temporarily suspended it as a result of COVID-19.

PT Angkasa Pura II airports currently do not serve direct flights to Italy and Iran. The government also does not prohibit flights from and to Italy and Iran, only prohibits incoming travelers or transits for those who in the last 14 days before arriving in Indonesia from traveling a number of regions in Iran namely Tehran, Qom and Gilan, and in Italy namely Lombardi, Veneto, Emilia, Romagna, Marche and Piedmont.

As is known, according to WHO reports there is currently a significant increase in Corona cases in South Korea, Iran and Italy.

In addition to the three countries, other countries are also facing the challenge of spreading Corona.

However, international connectivity in Soekarno-Hatta is maintained by the operation of existing international routes despite the reduced frequency of flights.

International flight routes operating from and to Soekarno-Hatta with a reduction in frequency in March 2020 include:

1. Singapore (frequency reduction by Singapore Airlines, Garuda Indonesia and AirAsia Indonesia)
2. Hong Kong (frequency reduction by Cathay Pacific and Garuda Indonesia)
3. Bangkok (frequency reduction by Thai Airways, Thai Lion Air and AirAsia Indonesia)
4. Taipei (frequency reduction by Eva Air)
5. Hanoi (frequency reduction by VietJet)
6. Ho Chi Minh (frequency reduction by VietJet and Vietnam Airlines)
6. Seoul (frequency reduction by Asiana Air, and Korean Air not operating)
7. Kuala Lumpur (frequency reduction by Malaysia Airlines)

Other international routes still operate normally, such as flights to and from countries in the Middle East, West Asia and Europe.
