As for today the Directorate General of Civil Aviation has issued a circular so that examinations of passengers on international routes arriving at all airports in Indonesia can be increased and carried out on a massive scale.
"We ensure that all inspections of passengers who have just arrived from abroad will go through a body temperature check divided into several lanes. The airline will also inform passengers about the need to fill out a Health Alert Card, "explained Yado Yarismano.
Yado Yarismano added that the presumption of precaution was carried out at a modest level.
"Every personnel from all stakeholders at Soekarno-Hatta Airport is working hard to prevent the spread of this virus, and we are asking for support from airplane passengers at the airport and also the entire community. The airport is the main gate in Indonesia, therefore prevention efforts are carried out to the fullest, "said Yado Yarismano.
The Port Health Office under the Ministry of Health is tasked with monitoring aircraft passengers, including checking the body temperature of all passengers arriving overseas.
Body temperature checks are carried out with a thermal scanner located in the terminal, as well as a thermo gun held by KKP personnel.
In addition, passengers from abroad are also required to fill out a Health Alert Card (HAC) form to monitor the possibility of airplane passengers contracting COVID-19.
When undergoing the procedure of checking body temperature and filling in the HAC form, passengers are divided into 4 lanes.
Meanwhile, thanks to intensive coordination and strict application of procedures, the Soekarno-Hatta Immigration Office has also refused to enter at least 18 foreigners into Indonesia because it has a history of traveling to mainland China in the last 14 days since their arrival.
Yado Yarismano said that the inspection at Soekarno-Hatta was not only carried out on aircraft passengers but also on animals at the passenger terminal and cargo terminal carried out by the Quarantine Center.
