Jakarta - All airports managed by PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) are ready to prevent the spread of the Corona virus to Indonesia.
PT Angkasa Pura II President Director Muhammad Awaluddin said the company had a program to anticipate the spread of the Corona virus and was prepared with various scenarios.
Anticipatory measures to prevent the entry of Corona virus have been carried out by PT Angkasa Pura II and the Ministry of Health's Port Health Office (KKP) since early January 2020, in line with the issuance of the Circular of the Director General of Disease Prevention. and Control of the Ministry of Health on January 3, 2020.
"Since early January 2020, PT Angkasa Pura II, together with KKP at the airport, has conducted intensive coordination so that it is maximum in preventing the entry of the Corona virus. We are aware that the airport is the country's main entrance so supervision must be tightened," said President Director of PT Angkasa Pura II Muhammad Awaluddin.
Prevention efforts continue to the present at 19 airports at PT Angkasa Pura II airport.
The following are PT Angkasa Pura II's efforts to prevent the spread of the Corona virus to Indonesia:
1. Activate the thermal scanner
At the passenger terminal of the aircraft, PT Angkasa Pura II and the Port Health Office (KKP) have operated a thermal scanner to scan passengers' body temperatures. If there are airplane passengers with temperatures above 38 degrees Celsius then the screen on the monitor is detected in red and further action will be taken.
2. Equip personnel with Thermo Gun
The purpose of the thermo gun is the same as a thermal scanner that is to scan the body temperature of a passenger plane. The advantage of a thermo gun is that it is compact and easy to carry (mobile) by the relevant personnel for passenger inspection.
3. Perform surveillance syndrome
It is in the interest of the personnel to monitor and improve supervision to find out whether or not passengers have been affected by the Corona virus.
4. Give more hand sanitizer at the airplane passenger terminal
Clean living behavior can help prevent the outbreak of aircraft passengers from the Corona virus. Therefore, PT Angkasa Pura II now provides more hand sanitizer at aircraft passenger terminals, especially at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.
5. Distribute the mask regularly to the airport community
PT Angkasa Pura II works closely with a number of institutions to periodically distribute masks to passenger aircraft and other communities to prevent the spread of the Corona virus.
6. Perform a simulation of handling a passenger plane infected with Corona.
Simulations are carried out together with the Port Health Office, complete with various standard equipment for quarantine handling and so on.
7. Formation of the National Air Facilitation Committee (FAL Air)
The establishment of the FAL Committee is in accordance with ICAO Annex 9 to improve coordination among aviation stakeholders to take the necessary steps in preventing the spread of the Corona virus.
8. Activation of Alert Monitoring Alert Post Coronavirus in Soekarno-Hatta
The command post was activated in Soekarno-Hatta on January 31, 2020, or the day after WHO declared the Corona virus a Public Health Emergency.
The post is equipped with a variety of medical equipment, CCTV monitors that monitor all passenger terminals, and the latest technological systems to speed up responses in tackling or preventing the spread of the Corona virus. This post is also a coordination post between stakeholders at the airport.
9. Establish procedures for handling aircraft carrying passengers infected with the Corona virus
In addition to anticipation efforts, Soekarno-Hatta Airport also has a contingency plan if there are passenger aircraft that are infected with the Corona virus.
If there is a report from a pilot regarding a passenger who is infected with the Corona virus, then the aircraft will be placed in an isolation area (apron) on the air side, once it lands in Soekarno-Hatta. In that condition, Emergency Center Operation is activated and Mobile Command Post is used.
Then, the ambulance from the hospital will be given access to the isolation area guided by Aviation Security and Apron Movement Control (AMC) personnel.
10. Stop flights from Indonesia to China and vice versa
The government and PT Angkasa Pura II temporarily suspended all flights on the Indonesia - China route and vice versa starting from 5 February 2020 at 00.00.
PT Angkasa Pura II Airport which serves direct flights to China is Soekarno-Hatta, where there are 16 flight route permits with 143 aircraft movements every week.
11. Ensure that airplane passengers arriving fill out a Health Alert Card
PT Angkasa Pura II helps KKP to ensure the Health Alert Card form is filled in by every passenger who arrives at the airport. The card is a sign that the passenger has been through the screening process at the airport, and increases alertness if the passenger experiences health complaints and seek treatment outside the airport.
A Health Alert Card (HAC) card is also given to passengers while on board and then filled out before landing. Later the card is stored for 14 days, at that time if there is an illness such as cough, runny nose, tightness, then the person must come to the nearest health service.
