The Only One in Indonesia, Soekarno-Hatta Airport Has an Advanced Mobile Command Post Specifically Handling Emergencies

Jakarta - Soekarno-Hatta International Airport is now equipped with a Mobile Command Post to deal with emergencies at the airport.

The state of emergency is intended, among others, when an unexpected event occurs, which is not expected, such as an incident or accident in flight in the airport area.

Mobile Command Post (MCP) itself is a large bus with 10 wheels. The vehicle can be transformed into a command post where the bus body can be widened so that the room inside is wider.

Inside the MCP is equipped with a variety of the latest technological and communication devices as a center of command, communication, coordination and decision making in the field when an emergency occurs.

President Director of PT Angkasa Pura II, Muhammad Awaluddin, said that the presence of MCP made Soekarno-Hatta Airport more quickly respond and cope with emergencies.

"Mobile Command Post is only activated when an emergency occurs or during training. The existence of a mobile post containing all interested personnel makes emergency response faster so that airport operations can also return to normal quickly. "

In practice, the MCP is a gathering place for the Aviation Accident and Fire Fighting Commander (PKP-PK), Airport Police and Security Commander, Health Coordinator, Transportation Coordinator, and Chief of Forensics.

The MCP also coordinates closely with the personnel at the Soekarno-Hatta Airport's Emergency Operation Center (EOC).

"The existence of this MCP is an effort of PT Angkasa Pura II in creating ecosystems in conducting emergency response in an integrated manner. Thus, the standard operating procedures in Soekarno-Hatta in handling emergencies are already higher, "said Muhammad Awaluddin.

The Mobile Command Post consists of 3 areas, namely the drivers cabin, planning area, restroom with pantry and toilet, conference room, and work area / administration room.

Soekarno-Hatta Airport itself is currently included in category 9 for PKP-PK. The largest airport in Indonesia also has a Main Fire Station on the air side to maintain flight safety, and Domestic Fire Station on the land side to reach all buildings in the airport area.
