Awaluddin explained that the implementation of Christmas and New Year's transportation this time was different from the previous year. This year, the Christmas and New Year Transportation Service Digital Posts were present to monitor all airport activities and coordinate security and service personnel in responding to various issues, in addition to presenting flight frequency data and the number of passengers that can be obtained in real time.
"For the Christmas and New Year period, we can immediately know the number of aircraft movements, the number of passengers, to the cargo data and also the On Time Performance (OTP) data for each airline and airport. All of the data is realtime, "Awaluddin explained.
Meanwhile, the peak flow of passengers on Christmas and New Year 2020 occurred on December 20, 2019, with a total of 322,644 passengers. While the peak of the Christmas holiday and the new year 2020 return occurred on January 5, 2020, there were 318,752 passengers. Furthermore, aircraft movements during the Christmas and new year 2020 reached 40,175 movements dominated by domestic flights. The 5 favorite destinations for international flights are Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong, Jeddah, and Penang. The 5 favorite destinations for domestic flights include Surabaya, Denpasar, Kualanamu, Makassar and Semarang.
