Current Administration, PT Angkasa Pura II Submit Organizational Decree and Employee Assignment Ahead of 3 Airport Operational Transfers On January 1, 2020

Jakarta - Right on the new year, namely January 1, 2020, PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) officially manages 3 more airports namely Radin Inten II in Lampung, Fatmawati Soekarno in Bengkulu, and HAS Hanandjoeddin in Belitung.

Along with this, today, Tuesday 31 December 2019, PT Angkasa Pura II submitted a Decree (SK) related to the Organization and Assignment of Employees at each of these airports.

PT Angkasa Pura II President Director Muhammad Awaluddin said the handover of the decree indicated that administratively the management of the 3 additional airports had not experienced any obstacles.

"The preparation of the organizational structure and the assignment of PNS employees to PT Angkasa Pura II has been completed, and we submit the related decree today to those entitled to receive."

"Administratively the transfer of airport operations from the Ministry of Transportation to PT Angkasa Pura II has been carried out in accordance with applicable regulations. And, tomorrow the 3 airports will officially join the new family of PT Angkasa Pura II, "said Muhammad Awaluddin.

The shift of operations of these 3 airports from the Ministry of Transportation to PT Angkasa Pura II is through the State Owned Property Utilization Cooperation (KSP BMN) scheme, where PT Angkasa Pura II will be responsible for the operations and development of the airports.

This scheme is a form of BUMN involvement in developing government infrastructure so that it does not burden the state budget.

PT Angkasa Pura II has also set development plans at each of the airports.

At Radin Inten II Airport, Lampung, PT Angkasa Pura II prepares development with the Aerocity concept.

"In the future Radin Inten II Airport will become the center of new business activities in Lampung, equipped with commercial areas, property, cargo warehousing, to aircraft repair shops that we are familiar with MRO [maintenance, repair and overhaul]," explained Muhammad Awaluddin.

Not only that, later Radin Inten II is also connected to the train transportation mode as an alternative mode of transportation to and from the city center of Bandar Lampung. Now the Trans Sumatra toll road has also opened near the airport.

Over the past year, the number of passengers on Radin Inten II reached 1.99 million passengers with flight movements of 16,058 movements.

Meanwhile at HAS Hanandjoeddin Airport a new terminal will be built to accommodate the growth of aircraft passengers in Belitung. The new terminal has a maximum capacity of 6 million passengers for the next 30 years.

At present the terminal only has a capacity of 300,000 passengers, while the movement has reached around 1 million passengers annually.

"The total development fund that we prepared at HAS Hanandjoeddin reached Rp. 559.9 billion, half of which was for the construction and development of the passenger passenger terminal and the rest for facilities including the thickening of the runway," said Muhammad Awaluddin.

As for Fatmawati Soekarno Airport, an air side facility will be developed based on need, based on the initial analysis needed by the airport, namely the extension of the runway currently with dimensions of 2,250 x 45 meters to 2,800 x 45 meters. Along with this, the apron was also expanded to a maximum size of 475 m x 115 m.

In addition, PT Angkasa Pura II will also expand the terminal to later be able to accommodate a maximum of 5 million passengers per year. By 2018 passenger movements have reached 1 million passengers, while terminal capacity is 500,000 per year.

Muhammad Awaluddin said PT Angkasa Pura II would try to make the three airports managed from 1 January 2020 increase their contribution in supporting local economic and tourism growth.

With the joining of these 3 cities, PT Angkasa Pura II in 2020 manages a total of 19 airports in Indonesia.
