On that occasion the Minister of Transportation did a flight check, accompanied by Director General of Civil Aviation Polana B. Pramesti, Dandim 0506 / Tgr Colonel Inf. Wisnu Kurniawan, Soekarno-Hatta Police Chief Adjunct Senior Commissioner Adi Ferdian Saputra, and President Director of PT Angkasa Pura II Muhammad Awaluddin.
"Ramp checks are carried out randomly on the plane. The most vital thing in this ramp check is checking the wheels of the aircraft, besides that it also regulates speed and balance. We also request that all airlines carry out self checking."
As for the Christmas and New Year Period in Soekarno-Hatta which took place on December 19, 2019 to January 6, 2020, the number of aircraft passengers is projected to reach 3.48 million passengers.
Meanwhile, aircraft movements are estimated to reach 23,397 flights.
The Minister of Transportation said the 1% increase in the movement of the 2019/2020 Nataru Transport in Soekarno-Hatta compared to the same period last year indicated the aviation industry was getting better.
"I am happy that the aircraft movement in Soekarno-Hatta has been the same as before. There is a 1% increase in aircraft movement is good because [in the previous months] it was negative. For airplane passengers, the increase can be up to 5%," said the Minister.
In addition to conducting a ramp check on the air side, the Minister of Transportation also inspected the Passenger Arrival and Departure area in Terminal 3.
In the same place, PT Angkasa Pura II President Director Muhammad Awaluddin said the company ensured the operations of Soekarno-Hatta Airport could run smoothly with high service standards during the Christmas and New Year Transport Period.
"There are 3 things that become our priority: First: PEOPLE, this is about the adequacy of personnel in the case of mandatory airport operations. Second: PROCESS, we ensure that all standard operating procedures (SOPs) between stakeholders run optimally and the applicable provisions. Third: FACILITIES We will pay attention to all facilities and operational infrastructure and services, especially those mandatory such as aspects of mechanical electrical facilities, airside, land side and data network so that the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport can perfectly serve all customer touchpoints that intersect aircraft passenger operations at peak times. "As of today, the number of submissions for additional flights or extra flights in Soekarno-Hatta has reached 1,031 flights, and this number can still continue to grow," said Muhammad Awaluddin.
Although the number of flights in Soekarno-Hatta increased during the Christmas and New Year holidays, flights are still believed to be going smoothly, one of them because the planned runway 3 is operated with a dimension of 3,000 x 60 meters on 20 December 2019.
Furthermore, in order to monitor all operational and service activities in Soekarno-Hatta during this peak season, for the first time PT Angkasa Pura II established the Christmas and New Year Transport Posts with full digitizing equipment and facilities.
The post that was established in the Terminal 1 area can provide a variety of flight information and also related service facilities for aircraft passengers.
A number of equipment and equipment at the post are used, among others, to monitor CCTV, conduct video conferences, monitor the movement of passengers and passengers in real time, monitor so that service standards at various facilities are maintained, and so on.
"Full digitization has been implemented at Posko in Terminal 1. Apart from monitoring activities in Soekarno-Hatta, it is also used to coordinate with other Christmas and New Year Transport posts at PT Angkasa Pura II airports," explained Muhammad Awaluddin.
The main post of Christmas and New Year Transport is at the Airport Operation Control Center [AOCC] which is where all stakeholders coordinate, realizing Airport Collaborative Decision Making.
