Jakarta - The national airport sector requires competent human resources in facing global challenges in the Aviation Industry 4.0 era.
Following that, PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) and the Human Resources Development Agency (BPSDM) of the Ministry of Transportation are exploring cooperation to produce superior human resources to answer these challenges.
Today, Tuesday 10 December 2019, PT Angkasa Pura II and BPSDM of the Ministry of Transportation signed a memorandum of understanding (Memorandum of Understanding / MoU) on Meeting the Needs and Development of Human Resources in the Airport Sector in the Global Era.
PT Angkasa Pura II President Director Muhammad Awaluddin said that the national airport sector is currently facing disruption of the competence of airport management, in addition to technology disruption and regulation disruption.
"The concept of developing human resources must be built in line with industry needs and curriculum on campus, so as to create human champions in the national airport sector in the face of the Aviation Industry 4.0 era," explained Muhammad Awaluddin.
Muhammad Awaluddin emphasized that HR competencies at the top of the list, what is most needed by PT Angkasa Pura II is digital savvy, where employees must be able to utilize technology and work together in a modern digital environment.
As for the MoU signed today, PT Angkasa Pura II and BPSDM Kemenhub will jointly compile an integrated program covering human resource competency development, education and training programs, recruitment, internships and competency development in the Aviation Industry 4.0 era.
"PT Angkasa Pura II itself currently has a digital transformation program to deal with the Aviation Industry 4.0 era, called Strategic Transformation 4.0, in which we focus on developing airports and improving services through artificial intelligence, internet of things, robotic technology, automation , blockchain, to quantum computing, "said Muhammad Awaluddin.
Previously, PT Angkasa Pura II had also carried out its digital transformation program by presenting various products or concepts such as the Airport Operation Control Center (AOCC), Terminal Operation Center (TOC), Tasya-based artificial intelligence intelligence chatbot, and so on.
Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi appreciated PT Angkasa Pura II for wanting to work directly with BPSDM of the Ministry of Transportation to advance the national airport sector through enhancing HR competencies.
The Minister of Transportation said the two parties could collaborate in HR learning and training in line with industry needs.
"I ask to intensify the depth of content so that there is relevance to the industrial world. Vocational is a very important initiative, "said the Minister of Transportation.
Meanwhile, Head of BPSDM of the Ministry of Transportation, Umiyatun Hayati Triastuti, said that the curriculum under the Ministry of Transportation's BPSDM would be adjusted to the specific needs of PT Angkasa Pura II.
"We will update the curriculum so that HR is expected to be able to suit the needs of PT Angkasa Pura II," he said.
BPSDM Kemenhub and PT Angkasa Pura II in the future will also collaborate related to facilities and learning processes at the Airport Learning Center (ALC) located at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.
ALC is the first education training center in Indonesia specifically to anticipate the dynamics of the service of the youth in the future. The existence of ALC to achieve three main objectives namely the birth of a reliable leader (Center of Chiefship), forming personnel who have in-depth knowledge of airport services (Center of Competence), and realizing global standards in all Angkasa Pura II airports (Center of Certification).
