PT Angkasa Pura II is Legally a Shareholder at PT Bandarudara Internasional West Java

Jakarta - PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) has realized its share ownership in PT Bandarudara Internasional West Java (BIJB).

The company will absorb 25% of shares in PT Bandarudara Internasional Jawa Barat (BIJB) in stages starting in 2019 until 2021 through a portfolio of shares purchase scheme.

As of October 2019, PT Angkasa Pura II has begun to realize share ownership in PT BIJB, and through the corporate action, the composition of share ownership in PT BIJB is currently West Java Provincial Government (91.44%), Praja Sejahtera West Java Consumer Cooperative ( 1.8%), PT Jasa Sarana (0.75%), and PT Angkasa Pura II (6.01%).

Furthermore, PT Angkasa Pura II will again increase its share ownership in stages until 2021 in accordance with the Conditional Share Taking Agreement signed on August 28, 2019.

PT BIJB is the owner of Kertajati International Airport, located in Majalengka, West Java. PT BIJB and PT Angkasa Pura II on January 22, 2018 conducted operational cooperation (KSO) related to the management of Kertajati Airport.

PT Angkasa Pura II's SVP of Corporate Secretary Deni Krisnowibowo said the gradual absorption of shares had been approved by all stakeholders such as PT Angkasa Pura II's shareholders and other shareholders in PT BIJB.

"Our goal to become a shareholder in PT BIJB is to strengthen the position of Kertajati Airport. "This airport is the future of West Java, in addition to supporting the concept of the multi-airport system implemented by PT Angkasa Pura II," explained Deni Krisnowibowo.

The concept of a multi-airport system developed by PT Angkasa Pura II is to synergize 4 airports namely Kertajati (Majalengka), Husein Sastranegara (Bandung), Halim Perdanakusuma (Jakarta) and Soekarno-Hatta, to support each other where passenger traffic and flights are well distributed in between these airports.

"As a shareholder in BIJB, PT Angkasa Pura II will accelerate the development and development of infrastructure in Kertajati so that it is more optimal in improving air connectivity in West Java," said Deni Krinowibowo.

The Kertajati development strategy will, among other things, lead to the Aerocity concept, in which commercial areas, hotels, offices, and pilgrimage departure facilities will be built.

In addition, the development will also include increasing the capacity of the air side such as taxiways and aprons, then the land side, namely the passenger terminal of the aircraft, and the development of the logistics area.

"After the construction of accessibility, namely the Cisumdawu Toll Road is over, then Kertajati will be more quickly traveled from Bandung in only about 45 minutes to 1 hour. At that time, Kertajati will become the main airport and increasingly optimally support economic and tourism growth in West Java, "explained Deni Krisnowibowo.
