Jakarta - PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) established a Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME) development area in Terminal 3 of the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport named SMMILE Center.
The SMMILE Center itself stands for the Small, Micro & Medium Business Incubator with the Learning and Experience Center.
Through this area, PT Angkasa Pura II hopes to contribute in strengthening the position of MSMEs as one of the spearheads of the national economy.
The SMMILE Center is an SME incubation center (Small, Micro & Medium Enterprise / SME Experience Center), then the SME Training Center (SME Training Center) and the SME Financial Center (SME Financial Center).
President Director of PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) Muhammad Awaluddin said the SMMILE Center holistically helped MSMEs to develop sustainably. As is known, there are at least 3 problems for SMEs in Indonesia in terms of: access to markets, access to capital sources and access to business competency development.
"In the SMMILE Center, the development of MSMEs starts from incubation, training to financing. The most important thing is that there is sustainability in the development program until MSMEs have added value and contribute to the national economy, "
"The existence of the SMMILE Center is also very strategic, namely in Soekarno-Hatta Terminal 3 which is the grandest and largest terminal in Indonesia with a capacity of 25 million aircraft passengers per year, both international and domestic routes, can make the SMMILE Center as a display center for national MSME products and services, "Said Muhamad Awaluddin.
In the near future, the SMMILE Center will hold a workshop on December 18, 2019 for MSME practitioners in the digital-based MSME sector by collaborating with Unionspace and their strategic partners.
Unionspace itself is a multinational company that provides coworking space in various countries such as Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines and Singapore and China. One of Unionspace's coworking space locations is also in Terminal 3 of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.
Meanwhile, related to MSME financing, currently being explored the possibility of working with BNI Syariah as a channel of financing for MSMEs.
"We believe the SMMILE Center will be optimal in supporting the development of MSMEs. We are also exploring the possibility of introducing MSME products at the SMMILE Center through a well-known marketplace as part of an expansion program for market access and offline to online sales or O2O programs for SMEs, "said Muhammad Awaluddin.
SMMILE Center stands on an area of 8,000 square meters equipped with a hall area for meetings, workshops, training and so on, as well as 40 modular tenants that can be used by businesses to market their products and services.
