Legitimate! Angkasa Pura II Officially Becomes Manager of Radin Inten II Airport, Hajj and Umrah Flights Directly from Lampung

Bandar Lampung - PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) has officially won the trust of the Government of Indonesia to manage Radin Inten II Airport in Lampung.

Today, Saturday, October 12, 2019, the Directorate General of Air Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation and Angkasa Pura II signed the Cooperation Agreement on the Utilization of State Owned Goods (KSP) at the Class I Airport in Radin Inten II Lampung.

In collaboration with the concept of the State Property KSP, the Directorate General of Air Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation handed over the management of Radin Inten II Airport to Angkasa Pura II during the agreement period of 30 years, or from 1 January 2020 to 31 December 2050.

The background of the collaboration with the State Property KSP scheme is due to the need for the construction and development of facilities and the operation of Radin Inten II Airport in order to improve flight safety and security. The Angkasa Pura II stated that it is ready to manage, optimize and develop facilities at the airport.

As part of the agreement signed today, Angkasa Pura II will receive aeronautical revenue, nonaeronautical revenue and cargo revenue from the management of Radin Inten II Airport.

Furthermore, Angkasa Pura II made payments on fixed contributions and profit sharing to the Directorate General of Air Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation for aeronautical revenue, non-silver revenue and cargo revenue obtained from the management of Radin Inten II.

Angkasa Pura II will also submit the results of the development, construction and additional facilities at Radin Inten II Airport to the DGCA when the agreement ends.

"We are very grateful for the trust given by the government to AP II to manage Radin Inten II Airport. We are ready to manage the airport and develop aviation connectivity in Lampung, "explained President Director Muhammad Awaluddin at Radin Inten II Airport.

Muhammad Awaluddin added that Radin Inten II Airport will synergize with other airports under the management of Angkasa Pura II, which currently totals 17 airports.

"Of course we are doing infrastructure development at the airport which was submitted to AP II through the KSP scheme of State Property such as Radin Inten II in Lampung and Tjilik Riwut in Palangkaraya."

"In addition, AP II also built a system that synergizes all airports, including those managed through the State Property KSP scheme, so that they can support each other in a flight network so that we can optimally encourage Indonesia's economic growth," said Muhammad Awaluddin.

Furthermore, Muhammad Awaluddin said that the management, optimization and development of government-owned airport facilities by Angkasa Pura II through the KSP scheme of State Property will save the state budget because investment and operational costs come from Angkasa Pura II.

"Angkasa Pura II itself has a development plan at Radin Inten II Airport with an investment of Rp500 billion for 30 years," said Muhammad Awaluddin.

The development, continued Muhammad Awaluddin, included expansion of aircraft passenger terminals and construction of operational supporting infrastructure such as the expansion and renovation of cargo buildings, construction of special electrical substations, construction of access roads, construction of CCR and Power Quality operational buildings, and other infrastructure.

"One of the goals of the development and development carried out by AP II is so that Radin Inten II Airport can become an embarkation of Hajj and Umrah flights, besides of course supporting the economy and tourism in Lampung," explained Muhammad Awaluddin.

In the same place, the Minister of Transportation, Budi Karya Sumadi, said that the transfer of management to AP II was aimed at making Radin Inten II Airport faster.

The Minister of Transportation also said that the transfer of management to Angkasa Pura II through the KSP scheme of State Property is the government's effort to increase the participation of private / state-owned companies in infrastructure development.

Meanwhile, explained the Minister of Transportation, the potential growth of the aviation sector in Lampung was quite large including for Umrah and tourism airlines. Following this, the Minister of Transportation explained that the runway at Radin Inten II Airport would be developed so that it could serve wide body aircraft flights (wide body)

"In 2020 the foundation will be upgraded to be able to land an Airbus A330," said the Minister of Transportation.

In addition, the Minister of Transportation also asked Angkasa Pura II to see other opportunities in optimizing Radin Inten II.

"Radin Inten II can be used for other activities such as private jet flights. AP II can manage professionally and see what potential can be developed," said the Minister of Transportation.

The Minister of Transportation also revealed that the government was working to improve accessibility to and from the airport including train transportation.

Meanwhile, Lampung Governor Arinal Djunaidi hopes that Angkasa Pura II can encourage Radin Inten II Airport to immediately serve direct flights for Hajj and Umrah.

"We hope the pilgrimage and Umrah flights can be realized soon," said the Governor of Lampung.

The governor also said the development of the airport would be able to support economic growth in Lampung.

The Lampung Provincial Government, he explained, also fully supports the improvement of airport accessibility through toll roads and trains.

Radin Inten II Airport is currently operating with a new terminal operated by President Joko Widodo on March 8, 2019. The 9,650 square meter terminal has a capacity of around 3 million passengers per year.

On the air side, the airport is equipped with a runway of 3,000 x 45 meters and an apron measuring 565 x 110 meters for 12 aircraft parking stands.

Over the past year the number of passengers at Radin Inten II reached 1.99 million passengers with flight movements of 16,058 movements.

Radin Inten II Airport is the 17th airport managed by Angkasa Pura II. This weekend, Angkasa Pura II will also get additional airports to be managed namely Fatmawati Soekarno Airport in Bengkulu and HAS Hanandjoeddin in Belitung.
