Extraordinary Expansion, This List of New Airports whose Management Is Handed over to Angkasa Pura II

Jakarta - The number of airports managed by PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) this year has increased again. In 2018, the company will manage 16 airports and this year will become 19 airports.

Three additional airports that will be managed by Angkasa Pura II are HAS Hanandjoeddin Airport in Belitung, Fatmawati Soekarno Airport in Bengkulu and Radin Inten II Airport in Lampung.

The management of the airports was immediately handed over to Angkasa Pura II by the Ministry of Transportation through the Utilization Cooperation (KSP) scheme of State Property assets.

Last year, through the KSP scheme, the Ministry of Transportation also handed over management of Tjilik Riwut Airport to Angkasa Pura II.

"After last year Tjilik Riwut, this year the Ministry of Transportation will submit the management of HAS Hanandjoeddin Airport, Fatmawati Soekarno, and Radin Inten II to Angkasa Pura II through the KSP scheme."

"We are very grateful to the government who entrusted AP II to manage the four airports with the KSP scheme," explained Angkasa Pura II President Director Muhammad Awaluddin.

Muhammad Awaluddin added that Angkasa Pura II is ready to improve the performance of the four airports so that they can contribute optimally and maximally in supporting tourism and the local economy.

"The four airports have sufficient infrastructure on the land and air sides for now in developing air transportation connectivity. However, to reach market potential and improve services, Angkasa Pura II will undertake various developments, "said Muhammad Awaluddin.

Following are the profiles of airports whose management has been submitted to Angkasa Pura II through the KSP scheme:

Tjilik Riwut Airport, Palangkaraya
The airport has a magnificent and modern new terminal and displays local wisdom, namely a number of Dayak tribal ornaments in the interior of the terminal. In addition, in the terminal there is also a miniature dragon boat to introduce one of the typical means of transportation in Central Kalimantan.

The new terminal with an area of ​​around 30,000 square meters has a capacity of 2,200 people per day and was inaugurated by President Joko Widodo on April 8, 2019.

As for last year the number of passengers at the airport was recorded at around 1 million passengers, and Angkasa Pura II will develop so that it can anticipate the movement of up to 8 million passengers per year.

Tjilik Riwut is also equipped with a runway measuring 2,500 x 45 meters, where there are currently 32 aircraft movements per day.

The airport is also equipped with an apron measuring 328 x 110 meters with a parking stand that can accommodate as many as 4 wide-bodied aircraft.

The existence of Tjilik Riwut in Central Kalimantan will later be able to support the capital of Indonesia which will be located in East Kalimantan.

Radin Inten II Airport, Lampung
Radin Inten II Airport has a new aircraft passenger terminal which was inaugurated by President Joko Widodo on March 8, 2019.

The 9,650 square meter new terminal emphasizes local culture by displaying the Siger symbol in several areas. Siger itself is a symbol of pride that is very attached to the people of Lampung. In addition, this terminal is also built with the concept of eco airport and eco energy.

The new terminal has a capacity of around 3 million passengers per year, and is supported by a runway measuring 2,500 x 45 meters and an apron measuring 565 x 110 meters for 12 aircraft parking stands.

Not only that, this airport also has 3 helipads measuring 24 x 24 meters.

The number of aircraft passengers last year reached 1.99 million passengers, with 16,058 movements.

Lampung Airport is very likely to support the operation of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport because the distance is not so far.

HAS Hanandjoeddin Airport, Tanjung Pandan, Belitung
HAS Hanandjoeddin Airport enters the National Tourism Strategic Area, where the nearest tourist destination for this airport is Tanjung Kelayang. Tanjung Kelayang is included in the "10 New Bali" program launched by the government.

In line with this, the development of the airport is carried out to accelerate the growth of local and national tourism through the expansion of flight connectivity.

The capacity of the aircraft's passenger terminal is around 400,000 passengers per year, while the movement of passengers throughout 2018 has reached 1 million passengers per year.

Therefore, Angkasa Pura II has plans to expand the terminal at this airport in order to improve services and comfort for airplane passengers and also so that the maximum in supporting local tourism.

The airport is equipped with a runway measuring 2,400 x 45 meters, with the volume of aircraft movements in 2018 recorded 9,534 passengers.

Fatmawati Soekarno Airport, Bengkulu
Flight growth to and from Bengkulu is quite high, where in 2018 the movement of aircraft passengers at Fatmawati Soekarno Airport was recorded to have reached 1 million passengers or exceeded the terminal capacity of 500,000 passengers per year.

Angkasa Pura II already has plans to develop aircraft passenger terminals to anticipate the movement of 5.6 million passengers.

As for now Fatmawati Soekarno Airport operates with a runway measuring 2,500 x 45 meters to serve a maximum of Boeing 737-900 ER aircraft and the like.

The development of this airport by Angkasa Pura II will improve the accessibility and connectivity of Bengkulu Province.

The location of Fatmawati Soekarno Airport is quite close to other Angkasa Pura II airports, namely Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II (Palembang) and Radin Inten II (Lampung), so that the development of the three airports carries the concept of multi-airport system so that the air transportation sector can be maximized in supporting the economy and tourism on the island of Sumatra.

It is planned that the signing of the Cooperation in the Utilization of State Property along with the Minutes of Handover of the Operations of the three airports (Lampung, Bengkulu and Belitung) will be carried out at the end of this week.
