Jakarta - PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) and the International Air Transport Association (IATA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding regarding the plan to develop a number of airports in Indonesia.
The MoU was signed yesterday, Wednesday 13 November 2019, by PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) President Director Muhammad Awaluddin and Regional Vice President of Asia Pacific IATA Conrad Clifford.
This MoU is the first step of cooperation between the two parties, namely PT Angkasa Pura II as the manager of 19 airports in Indonesia and IATA as representative associations of airlines throughout the world.
President Director of PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) Muhammad Awaluddin said the collaboration between Angkasa Pura II and IATA would later also be expected to broadly develop the national airport and aviation sector.
"Angkasa Pura II is the manager of 19 airports including the largest and busiest Soekarno-Hatta in Indonesia. Meanwhile, IATA is a representative association of airlines throughout the world. We hope that the collaboration between airport operators and airline representatives in the world can help raise the level of the national aviation industry on a global scale. "
"The MoU with IATA is also an implementation of the Go Global Partnership program launched by Angkasa Pura II in 2019. We want to partner with institutions that already have big names in the world. Our target is Angkasa Pura II to expand the market at the global level, not only to be the best in Indonesia, "said Muhammad Awaluddin.
As for the newly signed MoU, Angkasa Pura II and IATA agreed to discuss 5 things in order to improve services at airports under Angkasa Pura II.
5 This, Firstly is infrastructure planning and consultation services to continue efforts to improve safety and efficiency in airport services and operations.
Second, consulting services for economic studies of infrastructure costs and related cost reduction strategies.
Third, services for agreed financial products and processes. Fourth, training is related to strategies to improve the quality and capability of human resources. And, Fifth, the service of providing market intelligence data for air traffic.
"We believe that IATA can support Angkasa Pura II in achieving its vision of being the Best Smart-Connected Airport Operator in the Region. Moreover, we are also exploring markets in Africa and Thailand, "said Muhammad Awaluddin.
