Jakarta - PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) informed that all service and operational facilities both land and air in Kertajati Airport are functioning normally and did not experience a fire on September 28, 2019.
The fires that occurred on that date only touched the grass area at 4 points, or outside the airport facilities.
The fire affected the diversion of two flights to Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Lion Air, Batam-Kertajati and Kualanamu-Kertajati routes, and 1 flight canceled, namely AirAsia on the Surabaya-Jakarta-Surabaya route.
All fires were extinguished from around 16.00 West Indonesia Time to around 19.00 West Indonesia Time on September 28, 2019.
After the fire extinguished, the flight at Kertajati returned to normal that day also marked by the landing of Lion Air from Kualanamu International Airport at 19.40 WIB.
EGM PT Angkasa Pura II Kertajati International Airport Ibut Astono confirmed all Kertajati facilities did not experience fires at all.
"We inform you that facilities in Kertajati such as the passenger terminal, cargo area, runway and others did not experience a fire. After the fire was extinguished that same day, the flight returned to normal until today."
"After receiving information on fires in the grass area, the Aviation Accident and Fire Fighting Team [PKP-PK] immediately responded quickly to extinguish the fire so that Kertajati's operations could quickly return to normal," explained Ibut Astono.
In addition to the Angkasa Pura II PKP-PK team, the fire fighting was also assisted by the Majalengka District Fire Team and Pertamina Balongan.
