Jakarta - PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) informed that the Terminal 4 project of the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport is entering the design judging stage on August 20-21, 2019.
The design judging includes an assessment of conceptual design, schematic design, design development and detailed engineering design.
There are two consortia that have passed the selection process and are now following the design judging process.
Ph. APP's SVP of Head of Corporate Secretary and Legal Achmad Rifai said the Terminal 4 area would be built on 130 hectares of land.
"All land needs are owned by Angkasa Pura II so we are targeting the construction process to be carried out smoothly. The land is currently used for golf courses, offices and cargo terminals."
"Along with the construction of Terminal 4, the cargo area will be moved and developed into a cargo village that can also accelerate economic growth in Indonesia," Achmad Rifai explained.
Terminal 4 was built with a capacity of around 40 million aircraft passengers per year and will become the largest terminal in Indonesia. At present the largest terminal in the Republic of Indonesia is Terminal 3 of the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport with a capacity of 25 million passengers per year.
Terminal 4's interior design concept itself is futuristic and adopts local culture.
On the information technology side, Terminal 4 also has the concept of smart mobility, smart environment, and smart security.
In support of Smart Mobility Terminal 4 it has a self-check in counter, self-baggage drop, and a number of other facilities.
Related to Smart Security, Terminal 4 is equipped with a full body x-ray scanner and smart CCTV.
While with Smart Environment, Terminal 4 becomes an ecogreen airport equipped with a number of facilities including smart grids and intelligent building management systems.
"We also make a special concept related to commercial where pay attention to tenant flow management and customer satisfaction oriented."
"The entire concept in Terminal 4 pays close attention to all processes such as departure, check-in, arrival, transit, commercial, to public transportation to and from the terminal. Equipped with the latest information technology, Terminal 4 will bring the fragrance of Indonesia's name at the global level, "explained Achmad Rifai.
President Joko Widodo some time ago also paid attention to Terminal 4 during a visit to Soekarno-Hatta in June 2019.
At that time, President Jokowi requested the construction of Terminal 4 to begin in 2021 and complete in 2024.
"It has started drawing, design already. We hope that in 2021 the fourth terminal will be built again. Three years completed. So that in the future we hope to be able to accommodate 110 million passengers with a terminal plus four, "said President Jokowi.
After Terminal 4 with a capacity of 45 million passengers was built, then revitalization of Terminals 1 and 2 ended with a total capacity of 40 million passengers, coupled with Terminal 3 with a capacity of 25 million passengers, Soekarno-Hatta as a whole had a capacity of around 110 million passengers per year.
