Jakarta - PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) and Monash University today, Tuesday, July 23, 2019, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the field of research and academics.

This is a follow up to the signing of a previous memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Transportation and Monash University on Collaborative Development in Research, Education and Capacity Building in the Transportation Sector, with the scope of which includes transit oriented development, transportation management during the 2018 Asian Games, and Smart Airport.

The signing of the MoU was carried out by AP II President Director Muhammad Awaluddin and Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President of Monash University Professor Abid Khan.

Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President of Monash University Professor Abid Khan said Monash University currently also has close relations with the Ministry of Transportation through the MoU which had previously been conducted with the Ministry of Transportation.

This MoU is the first step for both parties to collaborate in academic and research activities in order to develop and improve the competence of human resources in AP II.

This collaboration with Monash University is also a commitment of AP II in working with global partners in this case a world-class university.

AP II President Director Muhammad Awaluddin said Monash University is a leading and well-known university in Asia Pacific that has a long history in the world of international education.

"Together with Monash University, we believe that AP II can achieve the target of international business development (international expansion). We do not want to just be the airport operator in the country, but also to work on markets in other countries. "

"The concept of Smart & Connected Airport is also expected to be implemented quickly and well through collaboration between AP II and Monash University," Muhammad Awaluddin said.

As is known, digitalization is an important part of Angkasa Pura II's journey, where the implementation of the Smart & Connected Airport concept at each airport is one of the goals of the company's digital transformation.
