PT Angkasa Pura II Ready to Serve Hajj Flights at 5 Hajj Embarkation Airports

Jakarta - Soekarno-Hatta International Airport began serving Hajj flights on Sunday, July 7, 2019.

The first Hajj pilgrimage flight in Soekarno-Hatta was released by Vice President Jusuf Kalla at the Soekarno-Hatta 2D Terminal.

On that occasion the Vice President JK also reviewed the latest facilities for pilgrims at Terminal 2D which made the process of departure for pilgrims easier, faster, and smooth.

Vice President JK praised the facility as a progress that could shorten the bureaucracy.

The facility in question is a lounge built by AP II in Terminal 2D, has a capacity of 1,500 people, equipped with toilet facilities, prayer rooms, 15 Immigration counters / special pre-clearence systems in Terminal 2D to accelerate immigration services in Saudi Arabia.

The existence of immigration services at the facility makes pilgrims can experience fast track services regarding immigration.

AP II President Director Muhammad Awaluddin said the lounge for the hajj pilgrims was one of the latest innovations resulting from collaboration between AP II and the government of Saudi Arabia.

"Our commitment is the best service for all airport service users including pilgrims who depart from Soekarno-Hatta."

"We hope that this latest lounge can help deliver pilgrims to worship fervently later in the Holy Land, prepare themselves before departure," explained Muhammad Awaluddin.

This year the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport serves the departure of the pilgrims from 631 fleets originating from the four embarkations, namely DKI Jakarta, Lampung, West Java and Banten.

Besides Soekarno-Hatta, AP II also serves Hajj embarkation flights through Sultan Iskandar Muda Airport (Aceh), Kualanamu (Deli Serdang), Minangkabau (Padang), and Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II (Palembang).

At Sultan Iskandar Muda Airport there are 12 groups (4,359 pilgrims), then Kualanamu with 22 groups (8,292 worshipers), Minangkabau with 18 groups (6,222 worshipers), and Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II with 19 groups (8,049 worshipers).

"At each of these airports, Angkasa Pura II has prepared special officers so that the hajj flight can proceed smoothly without obstacles. Facilities at all airports are also ready to serve hajj flights from wide-body aircraft operated by Garuda Indonesia and Saudi Airlines," said Muhammad Awaluddin .
