Flight Management at Husein Sastranegara and Kertajati Airports Begins June 15, 2019

Jakarta - Arranging flight routes at Husein Sastranegara International Airport and Kertajati International Airport in West Java starting June 15, 2019.

This is in accordance with the Directorate General of Civil Aviation's Letter of the Ministry of Transportation numbered AV.004 / 0274 / KUM / DRJU / VI / 2019 dated June 13, 2019.

The arrangement meant among which was the diversion of domestic flight routes operated by jets from Husein Sastranegara to Kertajati.

PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero) VP of Corporate Communications Yado Yarismano said Husein Sastranegara and Kertajati were ready to arrange this flight.

"Facilities related to aviation safety and security, both at Husein Sastranegara and Kertajati, can already be fulfilled. We are ready to run the flight arrangement starting June 15, 2019 and want to realize the flight move as soon as possible. "

"At present AP II together with all other stakeholders including airlines are preparing so that the flight transfer from Husein Sastranegara to Kertajati can be realized immediately. AP II is committed to helping airlines move smoothly, "said Yado Yarismano.

The needs of the airline before the flight move are related to the ticket sales and aircraft rotation systems which do require careful calculation so as not to disrupt overall operations.

In addition, airlines also certainly need time to communicate flight movements.

The airline also needs to process a new route permit to be able to serve flights from Kertajati, and obtain flight slots at the airport.

Until the airline is ready to move flights, the scheduled departure and arrival of all domestic flight routes will still be through Husein Sastranegara.

"Our priority is to help airlines to immediately divert domestic flights operating by jet to move to Kertajati, we are very open to hear their requests," Yado Yarismano said.

All international route flights and domestic flights with propeller planes will still be served through Husein Sastranegara.

"From the operational side, Husein Sastranegara and Kertajati will complement and support each other so that the two airports can support the growth of the national aviation sector effectively and efficiently," Yado Yarismano explained.

AP II President Director Muhammad Awaluddin emphasized that the flight switch to Kertajati prioritizes aspects of security, safety, service and compliance or 3S 1C.

"AP II will oversee and guarantee that the process of switching flights from Husein Sastranegara to Kertajati will run smoothly," explained Muhammad Awaluddin.

Husein Sastranegara Airport currently has a capacity of around 4 million passengers per year, while Kertajati has around 5 million passengers, with the operators of the two airports being PT Angkasa Pura II (Persero).
